My Footprint

Summary: This project is called "My Footprint Introduction!" For this activity, the artist measures their foot on a piece of construction paper, cuts out their foot, and then personalizes their foot to create an introduction all about them! For this foot, the artist included their name and three different media. The three media in this project are crayons, construction paper, and markers. This artist chose to provide an introduction using different symbols such as mountains, a softball, sunflowers, a bonfire, and a company logo to represent some of their favorites in their personal life! 

Extension Activity: In the classroom, there are several ways in which an educator could integrate this project. For example, during a science activity, the class could discuss the student's environmental footprint during recess. For young students, it is important that they understand the implications they can have on the environment. For the activity in this lesson, students could take their footprint outside with them during a class nature walk and consider the environmental footprint they bring with them wherever they go!
