Pumpkin Patch Watercolor Painting

Summary: Students used watercolor paint to create a pumpkin patch scene. This project incorporated a process called pointillism and color theory. Students used Q-tips to create the leaves on the trees and the ground to practice pointillism. Students also had to mix different colors to create colors such as purple and orange. Furthermore, this project used several different types of media.
Extension Activity: This project could be integrated with language arts. Students could create a scene such as the one in this project and then write a descriptive essay about the scene, describing the colors, pumpkins, and trees.
