Snowman Pinch Pots

Summary: Using clay, students create three different pinch pots and attached them together to create a snowman. After completing the snowman, students painted their creations using white acrylic paint. Students could then draw buttons, eyes, and a nose on their snowman using sharpies if they wished.
Extension Activity: The creation from this project could easily be used as a math tool in the classroom. Using two of the pots side by side, students could put different numbers of tokens in each. Students could either add or subtract the numbers and then place the respective number of tokens to create the answer in the final pot. For example, students could have two tokens in the first pinch pot, two in the next, and then four at the end to exemplify 2+2=4.
